Francisco de Vitoria University trains its students in depth so that they are called to transform and humanize society and form part of an open world beyond borders.

Internationalization is a vital attitude based on the values of encounter and transformative leadership, and it helps university students go beyond their own limits and deeply understand the modern world.

The university has a vocation for ‘universality’. Just as students are enriched by living with people with very varied interests and objectives on campus, they also do so by coming into contact with people from other countries, whether by travelling abroad or sharing university life in Madrid with students who come to the UFV from all over the world.

Immigration procedures

Students with a Spanish passport or nationality

Request your National Identity Document

The DNI is the National Identity Document that all Spanish citizens possess. If you have Spanish nationality, you can apply for it.

Accommodation

It is advisable to visit the university in advance, process your registration and, if necessary, take part in the interview; all without waiting to find out the result of your application for admission to the University.

Choosing a university residence or a university club is highly recommended for first-year students. It is advisable to apply to several centres, as places are limited in some of them and demand is very high.

European Health Card

For Erasmus+ exchanges, it is necessary to apply for the European Health Card, which allows access to the public health system in any of the 27 EU member countries, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

The European Health Insurance Card is not an alternative to travel insurance. It does not cover private healthcare or expenses arising from certain circumstances such as repatriation, certain surgical procedures, the return flight to the country of origin or the loss or theft of personal items.

To cover them, students must take out supplementary insurance, which covers situations such as hospitalisation in the event of an accident, medical transfer to Spain or travel and accommodation for family members in the destination country, etc.

Private health insurance

If you are NOT from a city in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, it is strictly necessary to have private health insurance that must include the following requirements:

  • Insured data including name and surname
  • Coverage from the beginning of international mobility until its completion
  • Emergency medical care service
  • Repatriation of remains
  • For those wishing to undertake internships, they will also need liability insurance, which can be included in the health insurance policy or purchased separately.
