You will critically analyze and reflect on ethical dilemmas arising from advancements in biomedicine and biotechnology.

You will develop competencies to apply bioethics in complex situations that affect human life, future generations, and the ecosystem.

What does it prepare you for?

Identify bioethical problems in the conduct of professionals, in health care activities or in biomedical research.
Analyze these problems or ethical dilemmas in depth and from an interdisciplinary perspective that relates the different sciences involved in the case.
Analyze the complexity of its causes, possible solutions and consequences.

Justify decisions using induction or deduction in well-grounded value judgments from an anthropological and ethical standpoint.
Communicate bioethical problems and possible solutions effectively.
Generate well-founded laws, documents, reports, or opinions based on rational and interdisciplinary foundations.

To deliberate on these dilemmas taking into account scientific, anthropological, ethical, legal and political perspectives.
Relate their own discipline of origin (undergraduate studies) to other disciplines in order to offer solutions that take into account all perspectives.

Other admission requirements

In the event that the demand exceeds the offer, the Postgraduate Commission will consider the following criteria to select the most suitable candidates:

Professional research experience in bioethics 35%
Letters of recommendation from professors and/or professionals supporting the application 15%
Higher degree (if they have completed studies related to the areas mentioned above) and academic transcript 35%.
Application form (where the candidate must reflect their personal interest and the reasons for wanting to pursue the master’s degree in several sections). In the event that the admissions team deems it appropriate, interviews with the master’s program management will also be evaluated. 15%

How can I start the admission process?

You must complete the admission form or you can send us an email to postgrado@ufv.es so that we can register you in the Candidate Portal and you can upload the requested admission and registration documents.

What are the steps for the admission process?

Conduct the intake interview*.
To reserve a place in case of admission
Submit the certified copies of the degree and/or grades that correspond in each case.

When do I know whether or not I am admitted to a master’s program?

Once all documents have been validated and the admission interview has been conducted, if applicable, you will receive an email notification from the admissions committee with the resolution of your application within 48/72 hours.

This period may be extended in periods of high demand.

What is the deadline to reserve a place?

Once you have received the decision of the admissions committee, if it is favorable, you will have a period of 15 days to pay the reservation fee.

*If you do not make the reservation within the stipulated period, your place will be made available to another candidate.
**The period of 15 days may be reduced if the application for admission is within the last three weeks prior to the start of classes of the Postgraduate Program, or if there is a reduced number of vacancies to fill the group.

How can I pay the reservation fee?

Once admission has been notified, you will be able to reserve your place from the candidate’s portal through a secure payment gateway.

I have already reserved my place. How can I register?

The academic coordination team will contact you by email a few days before the start of the master’s program with a guide that includes all the steps to follow so that you can self-enroll.

*In order to be able to perform the self-registration you will have to have provided all the documentation.
