What it prepares you for

This international presence of the Spanish language, not only in countries where it is the native language but also in others, especially receptive ones like the U.S. and Brazil, has increased global interest in our language, leading to a growing number of students each year.

This master’s program will allow you to:

  • Acquire the necessary skills to teach pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and discourse elements of Spanish to non-native speakers.
  • Learn to design lesson plans, didactic units, and activities for Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) classes.
  • You will learn about different linguistic assessment tools and procedures, selecting the most suitable ones for teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE).
  • You will become familiar with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for learning, teaching, and assessing foreign languages, as well as with the official Spanish language exam for foreigners, DELE.
  • You will learn how to use ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) as a teaching resource for Spanish as a foreign language.
  • You will acquire the necessary skills to adapt your teaching to different national and international environments, as well as various types of students.

In the event that the demand exceeds the offer, the Postgraduate Commission will consider the following criteria to select the most suitable candidates:

  • Professional experience (years of professional experience in teaching and responsibilities held) 35%
  • Letters of recommendation from professors and/or professionals supporting the application 15%
  • Higher Degree (if the candidate has completed one of the preferred studies most related to the world of philology, language teaching, and educational sciences) and academic record 35%.
  • Application form (where the candidate must reflect their personal interest and the reasons for wanting to pursue the master’s degree in several sections). Foreign students

Foreign students whose native language is not Spanish must demonstrate a B2 level of the language through official certification, with no more than 5 years of validity, and submitted before enrollment in the Master’s program.

Practices

Selection process
The internship coordinator sends the candidates to the companies, which select the student based on his or her experience, qualities and skills.
2.Follow-up
During the internship, the student is assigned two tutors: Company Tutor and University Tutor. The Company, by agreement, undertakes to monitor, advise, support and evaluate the progress of the students, guaranteeing guidance and consultation of the student.
Completion
At the end of the externship, the company tutor will provide an evaluation report that contributes to the evaluation of these students.

In which the student will integrate into the work teams of external institutions as a professional to gain experience and the necessary skills for professional practice.

 

Students have the following options to complete their internships:

  1. The student is assigned a practice center in their province to carry out the internships in person.
  2. The student, for reasons they deem appropriate, can provide the university with the practice center, and as long as it meets the necessary characteristics to be a practice center for this master’s program, the agreement will be signed to establish the educational collaboration.

You must send us an email to postgrado@ufv.es so that we can register you in the Applicant Portal and you can upload the requested admission and registration documents.

Certified copy of both sides of the university academic degree (in case the Bachelor’s degree has not been issued, you must submit the Supplementary Certification to the Degree).

When do I know whether or not I am admitted to a master’s program?

Once all documents have been validated and the admission interview has been conducted, if applicable, you will receive an email notification from the admissions committee with the resolution of your application within 24/48 hours.

What is the deadline to reserve a place?

Once the decision of the admissions committee is known, if it is favorable, you will have a period of 15 days to pay the reservation fee **.

*If you do not make the reservation within the stipulated period, your place will be made available to another candidate.
**The 15-day deadline may be reduced if the application for admission is made within the last three weeks prior to the start of classes of the Postgraduate Program, or if there is a reduced number of vacancies to fill the group.

How can I pay the reservation fee?

Once admission has been notified, you will be able to reserve your place from the candidate’s portal through a secure payment gateway.

The academic coordination team will contact you by email a few days before the start of the master’s program with a guide that includes all the steps to follow so that you can self-enroll.

*In order to self-enroll you will need to have provided all the documentation.
